The Rio Grande Art Association (RGAA) is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to the education and promotion of fine art in New Mexico. Traditional, classic, contemporary, or avant-garde artists in all media at all levels and art enthusiasts are welcome!  Our focus is on creativity, originality, and the development of personal expression!

Our monthly educational programs are held on the third Saturday of each month (except July and December) at UNM Continuing Education Conference Center, 634 University Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87131. Guests are welcome!

Educational Program Presenter

Larry Schulte
Larry Schulte was raised on a farm near Pleasanton, Nebraska. He earned degrees in mathematics and art from Kearney State College (now the University of Nebraska at Kearney) and a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas, specializing in early childhood art education and statistics. His career has included teaching, academic administration as Assistant Dean at Parsons School of Design, international banking, and commercial real estate management in New York City. A practicing visual artist for more than 50 years, Schulte also began writing poetry in 2010. Since retiring to Albuquerque in 2015, he has continued his studio practice and creative writing studies. WEBSITE

Exhibition Closed: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thanksgiving

Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony: Friday November 6, 5:30 – 7:30 pm

Deadline for entry submission is September 11, 5 pm.
